Boellium Training Institute
Building maintenance & superintendent training

A world-class, hands-on pathway into building maintenance and superintendent careers — taught by working contractors, on real buildings, in English and French.

Next cohort forming — join the waitlist. We're building the waitlist for the upcoming Ottawa cohort. No payment to join — we'll contact you with dates, funding eligibility and enrolment details. Delivered with registered training and Employment Ontario partners.

Most people enter building management with no formal training. We're changing that — with a stackable, competency-based program that takes you from the basics to a job, and gives you a head start toward credentials the whole industry respects.

You can start at the Foundations level and stack your way up to Certified Residential Superintendent, adding specialist skills along the way. Employers can also buy a single cohort to upskill their existing staff.

The pathway

A stackable credential ladder

Start anywhere, stack as you go — each level builds real, job-ready competency and maps toward recognized industry credentials.

Level 1

Building Maintenance Foundations

~1–2 weeks · entry

Building-systems overview, health & safety (WHMIS), tools & PPE, the superintendent's role, and customer-service basics. The fastest way to start.

Pathway: Leads into Level 2

Level 3

Certified Residential Superintendent

~3–4 weeks + practicum

The people & admin layer: Residential Tenancies Act and tenant relations, leasing & turnovers, building administration, budgets & reporting, vendor management, emergency response and de-escalation — plus a supervised placement.

Pathway: IFMA FMP · BOMI SMA

Add-ons

Specialist micro-credentials

Short, stackable certificates: Electrical Basics to Code · Plumbing Essentials · HVAC & Heat Pumps · Fire & Life-Safety · Accessibility & AODA Retrofits · Energy Efficiency & Decarbonization · Smart Buildings & CMMS · Winter Operations (Ottawa).

Capstone

Supervised practicum & placement

A real building, mentor sign-off, employer evaluation and a work portfolio — with job-placement support through Boellium's network of property-manager and facility partners.

Why it's world-class

A real pathway, not just a certificate

Our program is designed to map toward the credentials the building-operations industry recognizes — so you leave with a Boellium certificate and a head start toward the rest.

BOMI SMT / SMA

Systems Maintenance Technician and Administrator designations — the building-systems standard.

IFMA FMP

Facility Management Professional — the entry credential from the world's largest facility-management body.

Building Operator Certification

A widely recognized operator credential for hands-on building maintenance.

Boellium is building toward registration and partnerships to deliver these pathways. Credential alignment is our roadmap, not a current accreditation.
